92 cherokee lift question.
I have a 1992 jeep cherokee 4.0L 4x4. im looking at lifts and im planning on going 30 inch tires with a 2 inch lift. im looking at a puck lift made out of a special kind of plastic or something? and has add a leaf in the back. Just wondering how hard is it to put this all on and how would it look?

I just did a 4 inch lift on my 92 by making new leaf packs from a donor 92 Chevy S10. I also made front coil spacers by welding some steam pipe and 1/4 plate.
For the rears, you WILL need new axle U-Bolts. I have a local suspension place that was able to measure my axle tubes and make the correct u-bolts. You will also need 2 new spring bolts and a few spring clamps to hold it all together. I made my own.
I was at about $40 for the new u-bolts and such. I also had to move the rear brake line mount down since the rear axle sits lower.
Took about 2 weekends of fighting rust and making sure everything was done right to get the rears done..
Front was fun too. Had to move my front brake lines DOWN a bit. Also replaced ALL 4 shocks with longer ones while I was in there.
Got NASTY vibes on the interstate and when stopping so I ordered my homebrew SYE kit. Ran about 120 for everything. Still waiting for the flange seal kit. (I have 242 TCase.)
Take your time. ALL the bolts will break. Get a nice jack and some sturdy jackstands. 3 foot cheater pipe for breaking bolts loose helps too.

Depending on how old and in what shape your rig is in, its a pretty good idea to have a healthy supply of PB blaster on hand. Soak all your bolts in it daily for a about a week...trust me, it'll save you a lot of sweat and colorful expletives later.
The 2 inch lift is relatively easy...the coil spacers are readily accessible from your local auto parts store and blocks under the leaf springs. Hardly necessary to go with an SYE with a 2" lift.
You'll barely see a difference I think...2" isn't much and I'm running 30" tires with no lift at all.

I'm putting a lift on now, and to get the darn bold out of the leaf eyelets, I sprayed with a **** ton of PB blaster, tried by hand and airgun... I finally had to settle for using a wrench and a 2 ton jack... That was a PITA!

Just a suggestion, you may want to opt for full leaf springs. Your leaf springs are probably sagged and an add a leaf may sag after installation. Also, the installation of an add a leaf involves the same steps as a full leaf pack. If price is a concern, Pro Comp makes a leaf spring that supposedly gives 3" of lift to an XJ, general consensus is that it rides rough though. Part number is 53111.
