If it is an automatic no,the spline count on the 90 is 21 and 23 on the 92,in late 89 jeep started using the ax-15 and it was 23 spline,if they were manuals it would work.
It is a throttle body fuel injected renix system.

In late 89 jeep started using the ax-15 in the xj,it is a manual 5 speed and has a 23 spline output shaft,in 91 when chrysler took over they upgraded the aw4 auto to 23 spline also. So what I am trying to say is if the tranys youare wanting to swap were manuals it would work,if they are autos they will not because the spline count of the output shaft on a 90 is 21 and the 92 is 23. which means the xfercase is also 23 spline, however you can swap the input shafts from on xfercase to another then it will work.
Sorry for the confusion.

No the tcu controller will not communicate with the 92,your best bet would be to swap the input shafts.
In 91 when chrysler took over all controls were changed to the chrysler style, most all items are not interchangebale in regards to electronics.

It makes no difference which way you are going, the tcu in the 92 will not communicate with the 90 trany, and the spline count on the 90 is 21 and will not connect to your xfercase which is 23.
