i recently purchased a 89 4door limited, when i start it the abs pump starts squealing like a ****, until i believe it builds pressure then stops, and every time i hit the breaks it squeals. ive disabled the abs but having to stand on the breaks to stop is pretty unsafe. i don't have the 900 bucks to dump into a referb'd abs asm. or the finds till next month to dump into a axel/break swap. i wondering if this is might qualify for the 702 recall? any of you guys familiar with this recall? i called a few local jeep dealerships and basically got told they didn't know anything and they couldn't help me, and one dealership told me i would have to pay for the diagnostics and labor because she is over 100k miles. any thoughts about this?

 

Completely disable your abs, for our xj's its useless

 

If you wanna know if it qualifies for the recall, provide your local dealer with your VIN and ask that they input it into Chrysler's computer system searching for recall info.
