Default 89 Cherokee fuel problems??? Ugh

I have a lifted 89 Cherokee Larado I just put a brand new fuel pump on it and fuel pressure regulator on it gas is getting to the regulator but not really getting through it same with my old one I don't know what's wrong with it but it's driving me crazy it's for sell for 700 if y'all want it but I need to get it fixed I don't want to sell something that don't run... If I change the lines around at the fuel pump it will run but it runs like **** because it us getting way to much gas because it's coming in the back side of the fuel rail

Something is wrong here... What brand fuel pump did you get? Was the fuel filter changed... Did you check the fuel pressure with a guage?

Yeah I can pump gas through the line all the way up front to the regulator just not through it so I'm guessing I got a bad regulator but idk that's y I'm here asking I have to drive 30 miles to the next autoZone that has a regulator if it is bad.... What can I rig up to test the pressure strait from the pump it's supposed to have 90 to 120 psi Before the regulator... I'm not to sure it has that much pressure want to check and make sure ya know

It's been like that... Guess the people that had it before I had it was to cheap to replace it... I am to since I'm just selling it for 700 motor and transmission was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago I got way more in it than I'm asking for it

Yes I am getting gas all the way through the line just fine... I can prime the fuel pump and the pull the line off the regulator and it sprays everywhere just not sure if it has enough pressure to go through the regulator but the guy at autozone said it should only take 31 psi to open the fuel pressure regulator so idk I went and looked at the fuel pump it's a airtek or something like that Idk
