Default 87 Ignition problem

When I try to start it after say the first time it will produce a loud grinding/screech noise and not start at all. Any ideas to what the problem could be? Also if it would be of any help I have video of it making the noise.

Maybe watch the belt/pulleys while someone cranks it. Remove the Cat? (Feline!)

Hey, an idea. Try it with the headlights on and the blower on high...see if that makes the belt squeal. Easy enough to try! (mine does just that if it's loose) The link in my signature is a bunch of Cruisers writings...the last one addresses oil leaks. A "common culprit" is the oil filter adapter, the O rings in it harden.

Tried to with the blower on high earlier and no belt squeal happened but have not tried with the headlights on though. Also thanks for the link also my neighbor found a hose that was hanging down but it looked like the end was capped to it. Couldn't really find where it would go but tomorrow if i can get some light under the Jeep I will take some pictures.

Looks like you have an oil leak from your front crankshaft seal.
Use this to diagnose it:
I'd be looking up above first, and VERIFYING the source of the oil leak yourself. Many mechanics, friends, and good old Uncle Bob love to tell you it’s the rear main seal. Has a catastrophic ring to it, doesn’t it? A simple leak at the back of the valve cover or other source could produce the same symptoms. You don’t need to be a mechanic to figure this out. If you have good eyesight, you’re good to go on your own. Don't jump on the RMS/oil pan gasket bandwagon just yet.

Almost any oil leak on your 4.0 is gonna drip from the RMS area for two simple reasons.
First off, the engine sits nose-up and any oil will run back to the RMS area. Secondly, the RMS area is also the lowest point on the engine. Simple physics and the old plumber's adage apply here. "$hit flows downhill".

Valve cover gasket, oil pressure sending unit, oil filter adapter seals and distributor gasket, in that order, have to be eliminated as possibilities first.

Starter sounds like it's not getting enough voltage/amperage upon starting. How soaked is it in oil?

I will have to try and track where its coming from later today and a lot of the underside towards the front of the motor and below that has a good thick layer on it.

Look at the starter and it's cables while you're down there.

The CCV tube from the front of the valve cover, (to the air cleaner), needs to be free to vent. If it's capped or restricted crankcase pressure will make it blow oil out all sorts of places. ...just fyi !

I will defiantly check it out tomorrow and the hose is quite small(size wise) actually also it was hanging down past the frame.

I really want to thank all of you so far this forum has helped this newbie with a few problems though I hope I start learning a lot more so I don't have to come here for everything unless I absolutely can't figure it out.

Thanks, glad to be of any help. Just passing on what I've learned! That front vent is about 1/2 inch. (the rear from the CCV calve to the manifold is much smaller)

Yeah that is what the hose looked like if I remember correctly but it was kinda hard since everything on the underside was just covered in grease and gunk. Also there's a hole on the bottom end of the motor(i think we looked almost a week ago) that looks like something like a hose should be, I will try to get a light under the jeep and take a picture of it today if i can get it moved to where I can get under it.
