Default 87 Ignition coil #s, which one??

So I decided to replace the ign coil on my 87 4.0. The parts guy gave me one that did not look like what I have. He gave me one with 2 poles and a spade, the one that's in there has a heat sink attached and has 3 plugs, 2 of which has wires in them, the pn on it is S100620-001 and it says RENIX.

Any idea where I can get one of these? Auto parts place keeps showing a different type.

Thanks,

Mike

Well a quick Google search said Renix was used between 87 and 90. Did you try searching those years @ your locals online catalog? They also showed links to places like partsgeek and some others, but you'd have to wait.

the peice with the plugs is the ignition control module the coil you got sounds like the right one there will be 2 torx screws on top and the coil seperates from the icm. the spade is not used but the two posts lisde into two terminals on the icm.

ecm takes signal from sensors like the cps and such and then then ecm sends signals to the icm to control timing
