buying my 4th xj and it has 12 year old tires.i know theres a post for all tire and lift question but all i could find was for lifted xj's....... my question is what the biggest tire i can fit without spacers or rubbing etc, on a stock unlifted 1999 with stock 15x7 snowflakes. dont plan on doing any offroading just need good traction for wintertime. door sticker says 215/75r15

I'll start the bidding with 235/75x15, that's a tad taller than the 235/70x15's my 3 came with which, I'm pretty sure is the largest of the stock options.

For winter traction compound & tread pattern is more important than size.

 

Be sure to look at the manufacturers spec as to over all diameter. My Nexen 215 75 15s were a bit smaller than the old Michelins of the same size.

 

235/75R15 are usually the biggest that will comfortably fit stock lift
