Default 4.0 freeze plugs.

Hey guys.about 6 months ago my 89 waggy decided to be a prob child....deal was to good to be true...PO had dumped stop leak in...I DIDNT NOTICE IT TIL A FEW DAYS LATER WHEN THE BRAND NEW COOLANT BOTTLE HAD ALL OF A SUDDEN TURNED BRIGHT ORANGE.!!
So did the cooling system dance about 3000 times..flush and fill and on and on. Thinking just lack of maintenance cuz waggy ran extremely well. About the 3001th flush and normal coolant color appeared is when i noticed the green cat killing puddle underneath.
Heres my question...after dealing with 3 injectors spitting fuel..replacing vaccum lines..burnt harness pieces and trying to work my way down the renix tips list, all in order to have a DD...im pretty much over it...Pull the engine or drop the tranny? Im gonna do all the plugs...i know intake and exhaust have to come out...but would it be better on my bad back to drop tranny and replace plugs or pull the engine? I dont wanna do job twice so i figured do em all at once....Anyone done it both ways that can weigh in? Im ready to drop a for sale sign on her!

Pulling the motor is easier. To many parts to drop the tranny.

Mine started leaking too. It is the last one on the side of the block. Going to have to take out the motor to fix. Gonna do the oil pan, rear main seal, and timing chain while the motor is out.

One of the easiest engines to pull.

Loosen the upper 2 bell housing bolts FIRST.

Myself, I wouldn't pull the engine unless it was plugs leaking on the rear, under the torque plate. With the manifolds off you can reach the side ones OK.

Yank it, great time to get the block boiled out & have new cam bearings installed.

I know, I'd gamble, myself. I don't gather there is any need to pull the manifolds to pull the engine, if that turns out to be necessary.
