Tonight when I was out driving around town and I had to shift into 4wd (in a slick parking lot)...I shifted back to 2wd before I got to the pavement...and it was still locked in 4wd. I backed up with the wheels straight and back to drive and it was still locked...even though the 4wd lights were out on the dash. I did that a few times and it finally went back to 2wd after a few cycles of R and D. I am not sure why it took so long....usually it back in 2wd right as I move it to 2wd. What happened? I even checked the fluid this morning ...it full and clean.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Mine has done the samething at times,I have not been to concerned about it. It may have to do with it being colder than normal.
I just put it neutral give it some gas and then try it again until it decides to work.

 

throw it in nuetral before trying to transfer between 2wd and 4wd and see what happens
