The computer could have some shorts in it. Disconect it. Open it up. 4 screws. One on each corner and the. Look for nething bad. Like black marks. Or fuel filter can be clogged. Or most of the spark plugs could be fouled out. Can be alot of things.

Only one way to find out if its a fuel delivery problem.
Test your way to a solution. If you see fuel pressure die as the engine dies, there is your "smoking gun".
Get a fuel pressure gauge (can be rented from many parts stores) and see where it's at. The spec for the 2000 is 49 psi, plus or minus 5 psi.

so just for you i called him to find out what it was
He said it has something to do with a sim chip? I guess the key has some sort of chip in it.
When the jeep would start for the 3-5 seconds it had a key symbol on the dash with a line thru it, so he looked into that. I never seen it b/c i was under the hood, so i had no idea
I guess he has to get something reprogrammed? He is looking into it more today...but thats what he found out it was
fuel pressure was good 45 pounds
had fuel, spark, air.....coil was good.....thats why we were stumped

Ahhh immobilizer! Figured.
I appreciate your reponse guys, but please understand these forums are USELESS without feedback. If we never find out what worked to solve a problem then this is just an online guessing game instead of assistance in diagnosing issues.
