Ok I'm on a mobile so I'm sorry ahead of time for the spelling lol...

1) my drivers side door upper hinge broke...at the point where it connects to the body...anyone else have this? I thought I could just tack it Back on but what appeared to be a weld bead is really painted caulk? Hm..whooda thunk lol...so to just replace the hinge altogether robin need to take off door AND the fender? That's what a "shadetree mechanic" told me but I figured id tap into the vast knowledge base here first
2) I woke up today to find a puddle of brake fluid under my drivers side rear tire....looked a lil more n its coming right outta the brake drum..ive done 10-15 brake jobs on my own in the past but all disk brakes I'm not all that versed on drums...so far this has cost me one day of wages hoping for no more lol...so anyone have advice what would be easiest route? Sorry don't have a Haynes/Chilton yet...think its bad connection..seal? Fluid is coming outta drum not cable itself...

Ty again in advance for any advice I appreciate it

1) VERY common problem on older XJs. Get access to the hinge how ever you can. Weld it back together. It's thin there so if you aren't handy with a welder find someone who is.

2) Simple. Wheel cylinder seal is shot. Drum brakes are a pain sometimes but not really difficult. Pull both the rear wheels off at the same time and only disassemble one side at the time. That way if you can't figure out how it goes back together you can look at the other side.

Drum brake parts are dirt cheap. You can fix the brake issue for less than 20 bucks.

X2. sounds like the wheel cylinder is leaking and needs to be replaced. I did mine recently, I'd recommend replacing both sides and throwing some new shoes on there because the old ones may have been contaminated with brake fluid. Don't forget to bleed the air out since you have to open the system to replace the cylinder.
