Default 1998 xj boging down when engine is warmed up

hello everyone I recently bought a 98 xj and I'm having a small problem when I got it the motor would bog down and pop underneath the hood until it would warm up spoke to a mechanic and told me to change the cool and temp sensor so I did and it stopped doing it for a few days and now what happens is it sits over night and I start it to go to work it's fine when I shut the engine off for like 5 to 10 minutes and drive it the engine bogs down and pops for a few minutes and then it stops and runs perfect if anyone knows what this could be I would really appreciate any info on whats causing this thanks guys

Start with cleaning up your throttle body and pulling the Idle Air Controll Valve and cleaning that up as well. Have you done a tune-up on it yet?

Agree with that advice for starters.

Tuneup for a 98 consists of fresh champion .035 gapped copper plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. And check your air filter while you are at it.

Assume you haven't seen a check engine light? If so, pull stored codes for clues.

what would be a good way to clean the throttle body and file air control valve just blow it out with air or carb cleaner??
