I have installed many handles for the lift gate and I’m always perplexed about sliding the latch of the lock over the Pin of the lock handle. Every new handle has rubber over the pin and I typically take the rubber out. Is it supposed to stay in? I can never get it to work left in

 

I can say if you need to replace rear door lodoor the interior workings are the same as the front door locks. The case is different. As long as case is not cracked removing worn parts and replacing new is not difficult. Although paying a lock Smith to do it can save you a lot of headache
