1994 xj engine knock
i have a 1994 xj 4.0 with 188k on it and its had an engine knock for about a year now and i want to fix it. its pretty noticeable and almost sounds like a diesel truck with a more knocking sound when its at idle. the knock speeds up until i hit about 1600 rpm then it stops. it almost sounds like its coming from the bottom like a rod bearing or something. i also have high oil pressure. please help i want my motor sounding healthy again! im new here

There is a steel dust cover facing forward on the front of the bell-housing just rear of the oil pan. If you remove a few 1/2 inch bolts, you can then reach the torque converter to flex plate bolts. (15mm?).
They are known to loosen and cause knocking. Happens! With the right tools you might fix it in just a few minutes. Or you checked something good to check anyway since they are a known problem. A start anyway!
There is at least one great writeup here on that, (in the writeup section)
