Well....I think sometimes someone ends up under the gun to finish in an allotted time. The result is not always pretty!

He's talking about the ABS system I believe, not the Renix fuel injection system.

Jeep used a coupla different ABS systems in just a few years IIRC. They were a PITA, all of them.

Don't mean to brag but I just started my jeep (90) and it fired after like two cranks.

OK...started the timer, went out popped the hood, undid the connector, got .3 AC V from the CPS cranking, (again), put all back and came in. Two minutes, eight seconds. Guess I should at least have a new one waiting "on deck".

I saw somewhere its a square wave. I wonder if the cheap-o meter reads that correctly.

My wife's 88 starts like that. My 90 is a little longer. Both have upgraded battery and ground cables, too. If I felt like being Mr Science, I'd compare the CPS output voltage between the two.

Reads it fine. Are you trying to shame those who ignore sound advice to check their CPS output voltage instead of chasing their tail searching for other things?

HaHa! My MAIN goal was to recheck that low reading with a second meter. At least this old Jeep seems to work OK with .3. I should try moving it closer. And, yea, these things seem to be as wiley is an old condenser! I'd check it if my radio wouldn't work!

Its a renix thing, mine always takes a bit before starting.

Although priming the fuel system doesnt make it start any faster,it will randomly start first or second crank.
