Default 1990 Renix Injector Upgrade Question....

I have a 1990 XJ and the injectors are starting to leak and the seams. Can someone please tell me the part # for the ford injectors so I can order them. Also do I need to change the FPR or can it remain stock?

-Joe

Check this out: www.precisionautoinjectors.com. About $100 delivered to your door with new o-rings, flow-matched, and they're the upgraded 4 disc type.

Nice link but the only ones I see on there for a Cherokee say it's for a 99-04 Cherokee or Grand Cherokee.

Weird, I don't see them, either. However, I was there the other day and bookmarked the link, not sure why they've made it difficult to find now but here is the link to the 87-95 injectors...

Now if they just made them for my 98 Cherokee because I don't see them listed and I'm looking for a set of upgraded injectors myself.

Also, I don't think those are the upgraded injectors, just rebuilt stock ones it looks like.

These are rebuilt Bosch injectors rather than the leak-prone Deka/Siemens injectors. They aren't the 4-hole injectors like the #703s from the Neon, though. Those have the EV6 connector rather than the EV1 on the Renix system. You can buy pig-tail converters that will allow you to use the #703s but the pig-tails are $10 each so when combined with the cost of the injectors it can get pricey.

These will work for your '98...

Also, I think the four-hole #703s are a direct fit on the '98 4.0.

Eh at that rate I'll just find a set of rebuilt Neon injectors. That would be much better I imagine.

Is this better? You had to click on "Jeep" and then look. Here's a direct link to the 87 to 95 injectors..............

Depends on what part of the year the 98 was produced. Late 98 has the chance for the newer connector.

Correct. It's unusual but I have run into'98's with the newer 784 injectors in them. Not sure at what point in the model year they switched over.
