Default 1990 auxiliary fan upgrade?

Hey guys I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee in-line six aw4 242tc. And I'm looking to upgrade my electric/ auxiliary fan.
Can someone shoot me a link on a decent fan please?
I see one on Amazon, $56 by Tyc. 620560..
I know the wiring is different .
Is there a fan that has more than six blades that is a direct plug-in.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Well, you can upgrade to one of the later model 10 blade fans

Looks neat. I wonder why :>
Product Fit

Fits 1996 Jeep Cherokee
  • 1995-1996 Country; 6 Cyl 4.0L;
  • 1995-1996 SE; 6 Cyl 4.0L;
  • 1995-1996 Sport; 6 Cyl 4.0L;
  • 1996-1996 Classic; 6 Cyl 4.0L;
I can say it's a tight fit between the PS pump pulley and my E fan on my 90. Maybe just call them and ask if it fits in (87>) 90. I don't think there were any changes between 91 to 96. I might look at part numbers from places like Rockauto, and see if they changed at all.

I was pretty sure you could swap that fan from the 96 model.

So if I upgraded to the ten blade fan from the link the wiring/plug will be different so how hard is it to wire?I have a soldering iron and a multimeter.

I believe it will just run backwards with reversed polarity. Keep your old connector (or one that fits). Slide shrink tubing up the wire clear of where it will be hot. Twist them neat and straight. Solder. After it's cooled, slide the shrink tube over the splice and heat it. (A Bick lighter will leave black carbon marks on the tubing, propane is better for that).

Leave the Jeep side stock, chop and splice your old fan connector to the replacement fan.

Yea, no clew here, really. I might have even seen a Ford fan from, say, a Tempo will even fit. Maybe just the connecror is the issue...

It's the Taurus fan, couple of good write ups if hit up Google.

I've done it. Connectors are different. That's all. You must put your connector on the fancy new fan and it's a walk in the park.
