Any certain brand? First oil change In jeep , quakerstate? Castrol? Pensoil? Royal purple ? Just a quick question.... Thanks!

10w-30 Castrol GTX 6 quarts with a new oil filter!

Mine has 154k. I use Valvoline 10w-30 MaxLife with a WIX filter.

Rotella T-5 10w30 with Purolator Gold filter. Every 5k like clockwork.

^^This is the oil I like best. Personally I stay away from Penzoil. It has to much paraffin in it.

Filter is super important on our Jeeps. Wix, Napa Gold or Mopar and you know you're safe.

For high mileage 4.0; Wally world Supertech 15-40 high zinc industrial fleet oil is a big bang for your buck!
In reality there is not any significant advantage from one brand over another.

I thought about using rotella a few times but the looks I get when I asked the guy behind the counter about it( he drives a old lifted xj) scare the sh** out of me

10-w30 mobil1 high milage and bottle of lucas. Ph-16 filter every 3000miles even though i could wait till 5000miles

I use 5w30 dino oil. and I put a mopar filter on it. I have a reserve of wix filters that I forgot about when I bought the mopar one. oops.

I choose my viscosity by the ambient temperature. This is one situation where I agree with the recommendation of the Jeep engineers. Not everybody lives in the same climate. If I lived in Hawaii, I'd be using 10-30 all year long, but not in MN where I live! The -30 farenheit temperatures that we often experience mid-winter is damn cold, and I always use 5-30 for winter driving.

For temps primarily above 60 degrees farenheit, I use 10-30

For temps primarily below 60 degrees farenheit, I use 5-30
