Yikes! Ya, I might have a busted engine, but there's no rust!

If I hadn't already bought this one, I could probably have rented a trailer and towed it back to Syracuse if all you wanted was $1000! Cream puffs like yours are hard to find.

The ad looks perfect to me, except for the wood under the rear tires. I makes it look like the trans Park doesn't work. Just saying. Yeah, I wouldn't take less than $1500 either. DO NOT accept checks or money orders until you verify they are good! There's too many scam artists out there.

As we used to say, "Cash talks, BS walks!" If he's really intent on buying it, he'll bring cash.

That Jeep is what I am trying to turn mine into. Noticing that is a Federal Emissions '00. IMO major selling point there. My '00 is CA Emissions. It is not that big a deal but seeing how I don't live in CA, or a state that goes by CA rules, it kind of bugs me. In '00 my understanding is that it can be either. All '01's are CA Emissions. I have seen one Federal Emissions '00 up close and personal. In the boneyard last year. It is missing the computer and engine wiring harness now. The harness that has the O2 connectors and fuel injection connectors on it. Cost me $50 and 3 days of my time, couple hours after work each day, to get the harness out. Hey I am older and slower now. Cut me some slack. LOL. Pretty sure that forum rules prohibit me from telling you why I grabbed them. Wink. Wink.

The tow truck operator put it there to level it out. As you can see there is a hill and a bunch of trees there. I was super impressed that they were able to put it in there at all!

What's the best way to validate a cashier's check or money order?

Also, with my business I can accept an E-check. Is that a safe way to do it?

How do you tell if it is CA or Federal emissions?

Easiest way it to look at the white sticker on the firewall on the driver's side. I can see from the pictures in the Craigslist ad that you don't have a Leak Detection Pump. I am almost positive that this is one of the differences between Federal and CA Emission vehicles. See the diagram below and look at what is indicated as LDP.

The easy way is to look at exhaust manifold..

If the exhaust has two mini pre cats like in this pic,,it has Ca emissions.

If you dont see mini pre cats,,Then more then likely its Federal.

woah woah woah stop responding to whoever is offering money orders or cashier checks 99.99999 percent likely to be a scam! Cash only or meet at YOUR bank to cash the check before handing anything over . Better safe than sorry ! Hope you see this before it’s too late !

While I agree with GreaseMonkey17 just don't automatically think it is a scam. I did not want a PayPal account. Managed to get away with it for the longest time. I am always cruising Craigslist doing nationwide searches looking for those harder to find parts. Options that my '00 did not come with that I want. I would contact the people. Offer to send a US Postal Service Money Order. Tell them when they get it to deposit it. Once they are sure that everything is on the up and up send me my parts.

This worked out well. I scored Infinity Tweeters in great shape for $40 shipped to New England from St. Louis. The factory running boards I have on my Jeep for $75 delivered to me from PA. That is kind of a weird story. Would have been a 600 mile round trip. Wanted them but did not want to drive the 600 miles. Really just worried about the Jeep even though I probably did not have to. The guy mentioned that he did contract work in Rome NY. One of the customers of the auto parts store I work at is doing contract work in my area but out of Rome NY. He said if the guy could get them to Rome NY he would bring them down to me. $75 and a 30 pack of Bud Light later I had running boards. Figured had to hit my customer off. And for the record I did not cheap out on the beer. It is what they drink. LOL. In perfect shape with the exception they were green and my Jeep is black. Other things include a '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 tire cover for $30 shipped from CO. In perfect shape. I mean like taken off on day one and put in a closet. The front rubber shield. A Mopar one. Brand new. $35 shipped from NM.

I finally had to brake down and establish a PayPal account to buy something on Ebay that I really wanted. Only payment the seller would accept.

My point being is that I am sure there are tons of scammers out there my experience has been that there are plenty of honest people too.
