Got all worried that you might have forgot to take your plates off. LOL. In CT we keep them and transfer them to another vehicle or turn them in.
I always thought that was cool how plates stay with the car. My dream car, which I will never own, is a '70 Chevelle SS with a LS6 454.
I always told myself if I ever got one I would try to figure out what style plate and numerical sequence (the layout has changed over the years) would
have been issued by DMV in September or so of 1969. Technically when the 1970 models would have started being sold. See if I could find those plates
and if motor vehicles would let me use them. They can be funny. So I don't know if they would let you. About 30 years ago I even found a place that restores
license plates back to new looking condition just in case.

Oh so it is kinda like in CA but not really. Why do they make you get new plates? Do you get a whole different plate number? Or just a newer version with your same number? In CT you can keep plates as long as you want provided the car they were originally put on is still registered or you just keep transferring them every time you get a different car.

But sadly it is not likely will not have another Jeep, going to test drive Subarus today. When my friend is ready to sell his single owner 99 manual sport XJ with 90k I will be sure to come back here to help find him a buyer!
