i dont think anyone is looking for the forum to turn out like pirate just read the rules and post in the proper place and youll get your questions answered. theres no reason to be an out right ******* just make the person aware of where to post and report it so its moved but people just need to read the rules and keep it organized
people being lazy and cluttering up the forum is the reason alot of us even have accounts on pirate

You can't expect the people to have to use apply their brain power or do anything that's outside of the set job description because it's "not their job." The people on the floor pretty much have to have everything spoon fed to them. Manufacturing engineers have to lay the process out step by step for the guys on the floor detailing everything they HAVE to do. For instance welding a given assembly that needs to have a smooth surface.
I know how to simplify it. Let's make a
Metal section
Carpentry section
Plastic section
And five hundred more individualized section so that everyone knows exactly where to post stuff. Or we can be a little understanding and redirect folks that don't know. They will learn. Not everyone is on your level of skill and to them that wood box that took them all day to build is something they are proud of and who are we to say they can't share it. This is a public forum and anyone should be welcome.

I'm sure it makes perfect sense if I knew who you were talking to. Does your little phone app thingy not have a quote button? Just curious.

Instead of all the *****ing, how about just making the fab section moderator approved threads only.
As in you make the thread and submit it, and it wont be visible to the public till a mod approves.
Because prople don't read the stickies, so the irrelevant threads will never stop. No matter how many complaining threads you make

Also splitting up the fab section into 5 different category's will just make it into even more work and I would not be surprised at all if things still got posted in the wrong section.
People do it all the time all over the entire site itself. I'm away's finding tech questions in places you would not think you would find them. Like in "write up submissions" or COTM and so on. I've seen retards use the report button to ask tech questions LOL!!
This is just another one of those rant threads that go nowhere IMHO.

I'm surprised people aren't understanding the point I'm trying to drive at. We need to fix the root cause of the issue and stop trying to band-aid it with stickies and approved submissions. The fact of the matter is that the way the fab section is setup, it's not titled appropriately. That's the root cause.
I'm not trying to just whine, I'm trying to get the attention of the moderators and drum up some support to fix this place up right.
Like I said earlier, we can't fix it 100%, but if we can fix 90% of it, the fab section will be a MUCH happier place for everyone.

You can title sections however you want. There will still be people who wont pay attention

Did you read the last sentence of my post? Just to be sure go back and read it again. lol Having one tenth of the unrelated posts would be a lot better than all of them. Do you disagree?
I must say, this has been an interesting read. Fab sections on off-road forums are generally understood to be focused on things custom made (not modified) from metal. A "fab questions" sub-forum may not be a bad idea, but I especially like the moderator approved fab section. I know it sounds like a little more work for the mods, but in all reality, it would probably be much, much less considering all the crap that they're having to clear up right now.
