No. For those of us who frequent this forum often its something that actually needs to be fixed. It may not bother you, as it doesnt seem you are on the forum as much as some, however just try to think of it like facebook. When facebook changed to timeline it confused and pissed off people who used facebook (which it will do again when it forces timeline on everyone in the next few weeks). When things went crazy and became difficult to even find something on someones wall, it angered people. Same thing for this forum. Dont get me wrong this forum is nothing like facebook, however the situation is somewhat similar.

I probably did over react, And I apologize if I offended anyone, the point I was trying to make has nothing to do with good welds or bad welds, it has to do with people encouraging sub par work!

im with you and understand totally and its the same with the forum not pointing it out or reporting post when people post in the wrong secion is supporting sub par work and allowing people to be lazy and not read or follow the rules

" You say it doesnt matter but if were you that had just spent the past 6 months building something amazing just to find that it is overlooked because of all the BS you wouldnt be saying that. "

maybe we should change the title from "fabrication" to "Look what I built now tell me how cool I am without asking any questions" I know its a little long winded but it does have a certain ring to it...

Its people like you that make having simple conversations impossible. You clearly dont understand what the fabrication section is really for. Yes its to show off what you've done, but for the purpose of inspiring others and introducing new ideas to those who are seeking them.

Amazing? Really?

I really this forum and others like Cherokeechat, I come here to learn things, get inspiration for future projects, and share my own ideas when I feel they can help or be useful!

Have you ever spent any time on pirate4x4, 7-8 years ago when I joined it was similar to this one, then at some point 3000 post count **** douche bags started taking things to seriously, flaming newbs for simply trying to get a question answered, some seriously unnecessary ****!

Their current ignorant way running a forum got its roots from this very kind of discussion!

I'm sincere when I say I don't want things to end up like they are on pirate, brow beating people for no apparent reason!

Further more, I hope everybody who builds something awesome post a picture of it, because I love looking at pictures of cool home made projects, and I will tell them how much I appreciate a well crafted part (when they deserve it)! Because I find them to be inspiring, and if I can get just a few good ideas that I can blend with my own my project will come out that much better!

i dont think anyone is looking for the forum to turn out like pirate just read the rules and post in the proper place and youll get your questions answered. theres no reason to be an out right ******* just make the person aware of where to post and report it so its moved but people just need to read the rules and keep it organized
people being lazy and cluttering up the forum is the reason alot of us even have accounts on pirate

Im not saying that it should be a free for all and that the occasional thread shouldnt be moved, I'm just saying if yoh see a thread you dont like, dont read it, move on.

I say we close the whole forum and replace it with a huge FAQ page.

And its people like you that have ruined countless forums all over the net. You think that because you have 3000+ posts that you should be able to decide who gets to post what where. This is a public forum on the most public media in the world, who are you to tell me I dont understand what the fab section is for? The vast majority of the users on this site are newbies, what good does it do to inspire them and then flame them for posting questions about the very things that inspired them? Forums are for people to learn, ask questions, and get answers. And as a side note I find it very ironic that you call yourself a hippie when your ideas seem more like that of a dictator

Wow It's been a while since I've seen so much whining about a topic.

Fabrication is a place for people to be able to easily find build items, ie: bumpers, racks, storage areas ect... It's vital to keep it clutter free so people can find these said items and build something for themselves or just get some ideas.

If you have a specific question on ones item ask on that particular thread, same for suggestions on said item, that's good stuff to see in there, areas of improvement, weakness, other options ect...

If you're tossing around a new idea of your own without a start on it already, put it in chat, and get some ideas without clogging up the already produced items, or ones that are currently in progress.

Ending thoughts, an added "chat" section for fab is a good idea, as the Cherokee chat could be cleaned up a tad as well, but it works either way it's done. Regaurdless of what happens there's no need for all the whining and finger poking, seeing as most of us have a jeep around here I think it needs to inspire most to just get over it already.

My biggest gripe is all the complaining that everyone does about people not posting in the right area. Personally, I think only about a quarter of the thread that people complain about are legitimately unrelated to fabrication. I couldn't care less about most of them.

Like the point I made in the original post, you can't expect everyone to read the stickies. They just won't, plain and simple. And reporting all the posts to the moderators (how do you even do that anyway?) is unrealistic because it would be a full time job moving all the posts.

We need to design the forum so that it's extremely easy for people to understand what goes where so that they post in the correct section in the first place! Come on guys, we need to work together to fix this place up so that it is friendly and people can share info where it's easy to find and people can ask questions where it will be easy to get them answered. If this place is setup right, then there won't be the need for people to rip on a newbie for posting in the wrong section. They will have figured it out on their own!

I'm not saying this will fix 100% of the problems, but if we can fix 90%, that's a way better forum for everyone.

The last two pages of this thread are exactly what the problem is: everyone whining and bashing each other with nobody suggesting any fixes for the problem(s) at hand.
