Miner's Loop - CO
We did the Miner's Loop which started and ended in the ghost town of St. Elmo and included Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel, Cumberland Pass, the "ghost town" of Tincup, and Tincup Pass. None of these trails were difficult. I did many miles in 2wd. But, it was great scenery. I may go back and center just on the Hancock area to explore the gold mines morel. Here are some pics:

Great pics. Looks like a fun place to see. I want to take my wife, son and mom on a off-road scenic trip, but my mom is afraid of any kind of off-roading so maybe this will be a good one to go to.

Wow, 12,000 feet is pretty high up, how do the Jeeps run at that height, is there a big power loss? It seems like there would be without forced induction. Beautiful scenery around there though.

The Cherokee does better as it's lighter, has the same gearing, and only light weith 32" ATs. From St. Elmo (about 9,000 ft.) I drove the trail in 2wd with no problems for several miles until it got a little rocky.
