Meh, idk, angle would prolly be better to the negative, but, there is a natural tendency for the pinion to want to point up under load (acceleration) so you.may get away with it as it is. The shaft looks to be extended a little far though; how much length of those splines is in that shaft? Looks a little short.

I think there are 3 or so inches of splines in the shaft .. is that too few? Seemed like about the same amount of slip or more that was in the original drive shaft.

So.. I rotated one yoke on the front drive shaft and a little went away. Then I took the front drive shaft out and a little more went away.. put the tc drop back in and a little more went away.. But it is still worser than before the sye instal... I fear I buggered the pooch .. the instal seemed to go fairly well.. but ..

So the new plan is to put the front ds back in, run it, put the old front in the rear and run it, see what happens.. Should I consider some 4° wedges? Or is that another bandaid to cover an issue that needs atrention?
All advice is welcome

You need to get the angles of your current setup, to me, that rear pinion looks pointed down in the pics. If that's the case you need to degree shim your leafs to the appropriate amount...and I would also just replace your u joints in driveline, when the angles change the wear patterns can have an effect. 0-3* is all you should be seeing on either end.

So .. thanks everyone!! But the title says it all ...apparently the angles are ok and the u joints are functional; but I will put new ones in soon-ish. So I would suggest to anyone new to all this to look over what you have done and make sure its right. This diptard re-installed one end of yet another driveshaft and presto!! Drives like butter; tool the tc drop out, ran like butter; front ds back in and still she drives like a champ .. some people need supervision. .Thanks again to everyone!!
