Thanks! If you need me to go into more detail on anything, or if I'm about to do a project and you want a lot of pictures or a write-up, just let me know. This goes for anyone.

Well, it looks like I won't be going on the wheeling trip on October 15. We're having a family thing that I don't want to miss.

But now I can relax a bit, take a step back and look at things a bit differently now that I'm not gonna be rushed. Like my 2x6 rockers, I've been planning on going below the doors so I didn't have to take the time to cut into them and deal with all the extra work to tuck them up higher (a decision I know I would regret down the road). So this is actually a really good thing, although I just want take it out wheeling already haha.

It's been awhile! Just started working on the jeep again recently!

Got a good deal on some 33s, so I figured I'd throw them on just for fun (I will be lifting it around 2" before it's back on the road) They actually didn't fit terribly and I could probably make it work if I wanted to.

Built a back bumper finally, but accidentally warped the sides when I welded in the shackle mounts (you can see how it looks bowed on the sides) so unfortunately I'll be building an new one before too long, gonna wait till I get it back on the road first. This was a great learning experience though!

Then today I started on the 2x6 rockers. I decided to go up into the doors with them, this also removed most of the rust on the doors, two birds with one stone! Haha

Feels good to be working on it again!

Well I got pulled away from the jeep just about as soon as I started working on it today, but I was able to get the passenger side and doors cut out.

This will give you a good idea of how much of the door has to be cut. I took off 1 3/4".

Pretty much right flush with the bottom of the inner door structure. I think that's about where Clyde (roadhouse boys) did his.

The 2x6 are going to look killer. I appreciate the last photo, showing sortof behind the door, showing how much lower door skin you'll cut off. I'll be doing rockers on my beater...sometime.

Question: What happened with the rear bumper? Too much heat when putting in the shackle tabs? What would/should you have done differently? Did it need more bracing?
