Works very well on undercoating for sure. If I had to do another one id use a scaler for sure. The front rails had super thin paint, took maybe 10 minutes to get the entire portion stripped with a grinder. If I would have thought to use one back when I did my my stiffies it would have made my life much easier.
...and yeah, I love that needle scaler. Makes my life at work SO much easier. Cuts through rust, scale, dirt, paint, slag, you name it, in minutes. One of my favorite tools of all time.

Was nursing a hangover this morning so I didn't get a ton done. I did however get the passenger side c-gussets and LCA mount burned in.
I really need my OTA track bar bracket to come in so I can get that fitted and integrated into the truss. Should be here tomorrow or tuesday hopefully, shipped out from BLEE last week.
Axle is a bit of an ugly duckling at the moment with partial rust, shiny bare metal and chipping paint. That is all going to change soon.
The c gussets tie in nicely with the LCA mounts giving everything even more strength. Also drilled a hole in the bottom of the lower C gussets to let any type of water drain out of there. I don't wheel in the mud often, but there are some gaps at the top of the C gusset I could see moisture getting into.
Starting to look like an axle again. Got the driver side ball joints pressed in as well.
Got the knuckles drilled out to 5/8 for the heim steering, then super clean & wire wheel to get them nice n clean.
Primed them with some self etching primer and painted. They look purdy now.
Close up of the paint, has some very small metallic flake in it and comes out very dark charcoal color. Should be a subtle contrast to the black axle and will match my steering.
