Wet floorboard update: carpet is dry and back in place. I did some more leak tests with the hood closed and no more water has gotten in!

Cutting the stock shackle boxes out was pretty easy. It probably would’ve been a nightmare if my quarter panels weren’t cut and folded.

One thing I’m not a fan of with these brackets: I wish it sat flat against the bottom of the floor. Looks odd to me that it interferes here, but it matches the photos on the manufacturer’s site. Probably would’ve been helpful if these came with installation instructions.

I made this little plate out of 14 ga. steel to distribute force out a bit. The two front holes only go through one layer of 18 ga. steel.

I lapped and plug welded a little patch over the hole where the factory shackle bolt went through the capture nut. Got a little bit of porosity here but I’m not worried about making it perfect. It’ll be covered up.

Started fitment on the driver’s side. One concern here is my filler hose getting pinched. I’ll have to check that out when I reinstall the tank.

Normally I would just leave the holes but I wanted to try out this trick. It might come in handy on some of my future projects.
