Locker problems again
From what i can tell my rearend a dana 35 has a trutrac detroit locker in it. It has the six worm gears inside it. Last summer and now the problem i have is the worm gears are eat up pretty bad. I even have damage to my pinion this time. I want a locker in it but i do put alot of pavement miles on it. Is there a locker better suited for pavement yet still give performance in the mud. Please help me with advice. I am not schooled in this area at all. Thanks.

Ok, what are you asking ?
To begin with, per eaton's website (the people who make them) it is a limited slip, not a locking differential.
If you want a locker get a stock open diff carrier and a lunchbox locker, or go with a detroit....but it will drive differently.

Make sure your housing tubes are not bent. I've seen many carrier failures due to a tweaked housing. It puts an odd load on the spider gears causing failure.
