2000 Cherokee - replace spider gear or put in locker?
The rearend in my Cherokee finally gave out and I need to have the spider gears replaced. I had hoped to put a locker in eventually but was hoping to do more research into it before now. Any suggestions?
A little more about my cherokee drivetrain: 6 1/2" lift, 33" tires, stock gears and transfer case.

you also have to think about if you put a locker in your jeep which one to go with. if you get a full carrier locker, you have to re-set your gearset. your best bet for the cheapest price would be a lunchbox locker. if you are not worried about paying a little more you could get a full carrier locker, and then you have to worry about the gears, and if you plan on running the same gears forever. if you plan on regearing to a lower gear i would just do it all at once with a full locker.

A Loc-rite or Aussi Locker take the place of the spider gears and is very simple to install without having to adjust backlash and pinion depth, or any of that crap.
