I just installed a new JVC head unit today and used a Schose adapter to tap into the factory wiring. Now the dash lights stay on regardless of the position of the headlight switch rheostat. I am pretty sure that it has to do with the solid orange wire. Should I not have connected it into the radio harness? I had it connected with the two orange/white striped wires and that would only let the radio turn on when the lights were turned on plus I had to manually shut the dash lighrs off by twisting the headlight ****. I then spliced the orange with the red wire and now they wont shut off. Should I have spliced it with the yellow wire instead.

When you install an aftermarket radio, you disable the dimming of the radio screen (you have to control that manually on the aftermarket radio), although it shouldn't affect the dimming of the dash lights. I'd have an audio shop look at it, as they might know exactly where the dimmer wire is supposed to connect to.
