One of the things I procrastinated on doing is hanging up decor for the garage... don't laugh lol
Anyway. I need to get more of those
Attachment 403627
Anybody wanna donate? I need d50, 14b, amc20 etc covers
I made my own harness to make the reverse lights work...
I had the donor harness from the 94 XJ, I just cut the unnecessary wiring off and kept 2 wires from the reverse light switch on the trans... I happened to have a broken NSS from a 91 AW4. I trimmed the wiring down to 4 essential wires...
A, B, C, and E...
Looking at this picture, I soldered the B and C together & heat shrunk. To fool the computer to allow me to start the jeep.
Connected the A and E wiring together with the pigtail from the donor harness to make the reverse light functional. That way I keep everything plug n play like factory.

I gotta figure out how to make the transfer lights work too but that's a project for another time. It's not essential.
I also mated the t case to the ax15 to check for clearance issue with the mount adapter plate. ( I had an issue when I did the same on my XJ a couple years ago. I had to clearance it by bending the plate a bit). However this fit just fine without any clearance issues... weird.

I also procrastinated on replacing the broken valve spring too... time to change that.

Made a tool by drilling two holes on a metal bar.

Could have made something better now I know how it worked... but at least I got it to work

Finally put both manifolds on.
I guess I need to finish the valve cover asap.
Also need to set the dizzy and time it.
I also bought new flywheel bolts & pressure plate bolts. I should be able to mate the trans to the engine next week.

That is a nice looking cover, especially considering the price. I like the drain plug, it makes fluid changes a little cleaner. Many of the covers do not have a drain plug. How long did it take you to grind the 'M' off of it? I'm with you, I'm not a fan of advertising on my vehicles.

So many pics. Plus I switched phones recently so I'm not sure which is in correct order but **** it
What happened since is that I shoehorned the entire drivetrain in the truck. From the harmonic balancer on the engine to the tail shaft of the NP242.
Soldered wires to extend the washer reservoir pumps (because 97+ tank).
Cut holes in the carpet for the shifter and the 4wd lever. Without thinking I accidently installed the shift gate for a NP231. I gotta unbolt that and put in the correct gate for the NP242.
My 97+ fenders and header panel got dropped off. Gonna start bolting them on.
I also need to remove the mounting tabs on my renix fuel rail and on the 97+ fuel rail so I can weld those 97+ on the renix rail. That way I can run it on the 99+ intake manifold.
What else did I do? Hmm. Oh I ordered a downpipe for a 92 so I can use it with the 91+ exhaust manifold.
I need to order brake stuff, all the fluids, finish the valve cover, dizzy stuff such as cap/rotor/plugs/wires etc.

To solve the bumpstop issue...
The older jeeps had a screw-in style of jousters
And new ones were just cups that got welded on.
I had aftermarket extended bumpstops that were for 94+...
So I got those cups cut off from a donor Jeep in South Carolina and then grounded it down to length. Drilled a hole in the center and bought some hardware to bolt it up to the bumpstop towers.

Next pic is just for reference in case somebody come around looking for part numbers, etc

(Flywheel to crankshaft bolts)
That's what I saw when I pulled the carpet back. Cool.

Look like I might have accidently cut out a bit too much of carpet. So maybe I ll just make my own center console that's bigger?

The header panel is cracked on one side. Oh well. Didn't expect that. A little bit disappointed about it but I guess I can try fixing it with some epoxy or something.

Bought some reman front calipers, Chevy 1500 brake hoses, and misc stuff today. Probably would install them in few days LOL.
I ordered 2 gauge stuff to make cables but that ll wait until everything else is done. I also got legit 304 stainless steel braided sleeving to cover those cables. Should look good.
