Quick and easy. You can tell the 2.5 and 4.0L apart by counting the number of spark plugs or spark plug wires, the number of fuel injectors, or how many runners the manifolds have. One has more than the other. The emissions label on the firewall shows the engine size. Also, most ive seen had a "4.0 Litre" or "4.0 Litre High Output" badge on the tailgate, driver side.
