Hello i have a 2014 Jeep cherokee North. I know my fob works because my doors lock/unlock with it. I know i don't have an issue with my hood latch.

There are no CEL's present. My remote start simply not working. Is there a transponder on the vehicle side that is the culprit?

If the FOB is working to lock/unlock the doors, it's probably not the fob or the transponder. If you stand next to the vehicle does it honk or show anything on the dash? It also won't remote start if the tailgate is up. I also find I have to give it at least a second between clicks to get it to register.

 

Yes nothing shows on the dash when it doesn't start. I've stood right beside it looking in the window while pressing the button twice. It doesn't honk when double pressing the button. Back hatch closed proper, so is the hood.

 

That is odd. Both fobs? I'm wondering if it's the fob itself. I don't recall any settings in the radio to enable/disable remote start.

 

The thing is the fob(s) works for other functions. And yes both fobs. Could be programing issue i think....although its been a gradual decline over last two winters.
