Default KL Recovery Hooks

I have a KL Limited Diesel and have been told I cannot attach recovery hooks to the front of the vehicle. Has anyone been able to do it?

You can't simply attach hooks to the bumper or bumper support, they aren't strong enough to handle pulling the weight of the vehicle (they are designed to crumple in a crash after all).

As far as I know no one makes aftermarket tow hooks or mounts for the KL yet so your options are pretty much limited to buying the factory tow hooks and hardware (over $200 ea. list, though you may be able to find them cheaper online) and installing them or having them installed. I believe you also have to put a rivet-nut into the subframe-rail (for the hook to screw in to) which may be a bit of a pain.
