Question An issue with LCD screen

Hi guys, I got a Cherokee from 2015 with 3.2 V6 engine. I have some problems with electronics - when I start the car, the LCD screen does not boot for a few minutes. I have checked the battery and it's fine. Did you have similar problem to mine? I would be very grateful if somebody give me some tip.

Yes.

Replace the battery if you haven't done so and be sure it is a suitable replacement (AGM).

Electronics are finicky about voltage - when you start the car and the battery is beginning to show its age, the voltage drops briefly below the tolerance of some electronics - the screen can act funny (not come on, display weird lines, etc)...

Replacing my battery instantly fixed that issue (two years ago)...

I haven't seen that affect the radio, that's a first. I have seen a weak battery cause other systems to crash during cranking and start generating other error messages like the 4wd or the steering being bad. The body computer crashing kills a lot of things like the wipers, signals, key fob, etc. Resetting the body computer requires pulling the fuse or the battery cable.

Start by checking and cleaning the battery connections. That fixed mine without having to change the battery.

It certainly could be something else (loose ground, corrosion, etc), but my money is on the battery itself.

I had exactly the same problems (LCD not turning on right away) - especially when starting during the cold months or if the car sat for a few days.

My battery terminals were perfectly clean and battery was only a few years old.

When I replaced the battery, the problem went away immediately and has not returned.
