Default Front Defrost Not Working

Hello, first time posting on this site. I have a 2015 Canadian North 4x2 (Latitude is the US model I believe). The front blower defrost is not operating, almost no air from windshield vent. The dash vents still blow air when setting is on VENT and floor vents still have air flow on the HEAT setting. I am assuming some type of damper actuator may not be operating??? Is this a common fault? Is this a DIY repair? Thank You

Check the fuse. If it's not the fuse, it's likely the fan. If not the fuse I would take it to the dealer for service.

There’s a small “door” that is operated by an actuator which is broken. There is a diy but it involves cutting the box and somehow fixin it. Seen it somewhere but don’t remember where. It’s pretty common. If you remove the radio you can see the box that the door is in. Someone else will be more knowledgeable than I and may be able to help

Problem has either rectified itself or is intermittent.
Have found that when the car is started with the front defrost and fan previously left in the on mode, upon start-up the fan will not blow air onto to the front windshield; only through front vents. If I cycle through each of the climate settings and finally leave it on in the defrost mode with the fan on any setting, I now get air blowing on the inside windshield.

For the last two weeks this seems to be OK, we are now turning off the fan & climate control prior to shutting off the engine.

Mine did this for the past 3 years at least, the exact same thing you described. I could play with it a bit and eventually get it on defrost. This year doesn't matter what I do I can't get it on defrost and I got to figure out how to fix it. Still doing some research but there wasn't much information out there when it started happening to me. I would also get a check engine light every now and again telling me it was a blend door.
