I own a 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4 Litre and since winter came around I have noticed that my vents in my jeep wont blow any air out. When I have it on defrost it works perfect.. its slow but it gets warm(not hot). But when I switch it over to vent nothing blows out from the floor to vents to the defrost. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem and I'm like novice to trucks and stuff.. I know a little bit not much. Pictures helpful too thanks.

 

Sounds like the same problem i had. If it sort of works on hi and defrost then seems like nothing on speeds 1,2,and 3, then i would bet its your blower motor resistor. Schucks sells them for like 23 dollars. Good luck

 

Well my air flows are as follows

On speed 1:
Vent: Doesnt work or just broke
Heat: Doesnt work
Defrost: Doesnt work

Speed 2:
Vent: Doesn't work
Heat: Barely works
Defrost: Barely works.. it blows but its very minimal, its nothing.

Speed 3:
Vent: Doesn't work
Heat: It blows but minimal
Defrost: Blows out good here and there, sometimes blows out snow or frost, but its not hot its just like a luke warm air.

I just want to get my jeep working good for the winter as I already have had problems with the Heater Valve (Just replaced a week ago)

 

Go with the resistor, its a good bet.
