Alexa and Uconnect
Hello, I purchased a 2018 Jeep Cherokee with the Tech Connect package a couple months ago. The vehicle came with an Echo DOT, which was it's own ordeal trying to redeem the free Echo DOT. Once I received the Echo DOT i set up the uconnect skill and am supposed to be able to remote start my vehicle among other things. However every time I ask Alexa to ask uconnect to start my Jeep I get a response saying this option is not available on your vehicle model. I've contacted Uconnect Care and Amazon and haven't had any luck with them. Anyone else get a new Jeep with the Tech Connect package and are you having problems with it?

I'm sorry this is not working for you. I do have a YouTube video available that shows how to link Alexa to Uconnect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjx1...ature=youtu.be
Is remote start a feature that you have on the vehicle? Have you selected the Uconnect skill on your Alexa app and then selected remote start?

Kori,
Yes I do have remote start on my vehicle lol. Remote start works fine from my keyfob or using the stand alone uconnect app. No matter what I ask Alexa to do, such as "Alexa ask Uconnect how much fuel is in my Jeep", I get the same response saying this feature/option is not available on your model vehicle. I downloaded the Alexa app, I installed the uconnect skill and registered it. I am not sure what you mean to select the uconnect skill on the alexa app and select remote start. I am not very knowledgeable with the Alexa app, but doesn't appear you can do commands directly from the app itself. Seems you have to ask the Echo DOT to do a skill you wish.
Thanks

Please send me a private message with your VIN, I'll reach out to Uconnect as well.

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee with SiriusXM Guardian with Uconnect. The App and FOB work fine for remote start. However, Alexa responds that there are no vehicles on my Uconnect account. I've tried disconnecting the skill and reconnecting it. No change. Any ideas?

I am having this same problem and gotta say its been very frustrating. XM Guardian and UConnect keep sending me back and forth almost like putting blame on the other one. Its ridiculous this isnt working. I have a 2018 Jeep Compass and meet all the criteria that is listed on the Unconnect website and I am unable to use Alexa with Uconnect for my car. It says I dont have any vehicles when I clearly do! I am amazed either company hasn't a clue on resolution. As you can see below this is copied right off the Uconnect website with criteria that is need and my car has both Uconnect and XM Guardian but it wont work!!! I am an extremely tech savvy person so i know I have it all setup correctly. This is clearly false advertising on Uconnects website or a HUGE problem that needs to get fixed.

Exact same problem on my end. When I log into UConnect, my 2019 Grand Cherokee is in My Garage. But Alexa says there are no vehicles linked to my account. Anyone find a solution?

After next year the 3G CDMA cellular connectivity with service from Sprint on the U Connect Access system is likely to stop working. They've since released a 4G LTE system called U Connect Guardian with service from AT&T. I hope they offer us "older" (2014-18) Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee owners an upgrade to the new system!
As for your issue, sometimes Alexa has issues with account linking, even if it says your account is "Successfully Linked" in the account, and not just for U Connect: sometimes I have issues with getting SiriusXM Satellite Radio to play on my Alexa devices, and repeatedly un-linking and re-linking the account works. I'd try that until it works.
