Hello All, I have a 202 Cherokee Overland and it just started this thing with the AC blowing hot air when its not moving. About 30 seconds after starting to move the air will get cold again... Been doing this for a few weeks now off and on, not all the time.

Now yesterday I dove it about 300 miles and everything was fine. Pulled into town, stopped in the drive through and by the time i got to the pay window the dash was beeping and it was overheating. Quickly pulled out of drive through and shut it down. Waited about 30 minutes started it up and watched it start climbing from cool to hot in about 2 minutes. Shut it off again. Checked fluid, all full. Got back in turned the ac off and started driving it trying to get to my office. Temps dropped very fast and it was at normal temp in about 3 minutes. Got to office put in park turned ac on. was blowing cold at first then went to warm and then the temp started climbing again.

I know its under warranty and I shouldn't worry about his however, the dealer said they cant even look at it until first week of May.... Figured id ask on here in case someone has dealt with this or knows of a relay or some other silly part I can deal with myself and not worry about getting stranded or finding another car for the next month.

Check and see if you "Active Shutters" inside the front grill are not working or if something is stuck in them. They should be in the nose of the Cherokee. Good Luck.

 

Check the coolant level too.
