Equipped with 2.0 Turbo engine. Vehicle has been in for the brake system recall for air in lines.

When at a stop, the vehicle wants to push forward at even the slightest release of the pedal. You have to keep your foot buried in the pedal to keep it from moving. This behavior was present before and after the recall - as well as in the loaner 2019 Cherokee the dealership provided during recall service.

The brakes are fine otherwise, no strange feeling behavior and adequate stopping power.

Auto start/stop is turned off every time we get into the vehicle - would this be the cause?

Interesting observation. I don't know but it would be interesting to try keeping the start/stop on and see if that changes anything. Do you drive it in sport mode? That could make it a bit more aggressive.
