2017 Cherokee shake black smoke stall?

2017 Cherokee shake black smoke stall?
Wifes jeep cherokee all of a sudden was shaking stalled out and blowing black smoke. Took to dealer who stated there was a reported issues of when you fill the gas tank too much. They changed oil and filter refueled truck tested 15 miles no issues gave truck back. Weiand test ran no computer codes etc. Any others experience the same.
