2015 Cherokee won't turn off
Something else that I found is another safety concern...Driving in to work this morning and notice my turn signals stopped working again so I know what my next shut down procedure is going to be. However it started raining and of course, I had no wiper control. This is getting old and old real quick.
did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same problem and even experiencing a power drain. My 2014 jeep won’t even shut off when I disconnected the battery. I have to pull the fuel pump fuse. Now I’m having problems even starting it! It’s pulling codes though. U0101 and a lot more failures even though when it’s running there is nothing actually seeming to be wrong. I have an appointment for the 2 most recent recalls but I don’t know if that will fix it. Pleeeaaaase lemme know what you found out 😬

Good luck.
I won't get in to all the details, but dealer change the ignition module first and it didn't fix the problem. Next they changed the comfort control module and that seems to have fixed it. Yes they charged me for both parts and labor. Customer Care did help pay for half the rental car bill that took almost a month.
Good luck.
Good luck.
These Cherokees seem to be very sensitive to weak batteries or poor battery connections. When cranking, the voltage drops low enough that the various computers crash during startup. In particular the body control module and you start seeing strange error messages like 4wd not available, ABS isn't working, you can't control the wipers, the compass wigs out, or the turn signals stop working. For the always-on computers like the body control module, you need to actually disconnect the battery to reboot them.
When it started happening to me, the first indication was the wipers wouldn't turn off and I couldn't flip to the high-beams even after a shutoff and restart. Disconnected and reconnected the battery and they worked again. Next couple day started getting errors like ABS was done, 4WD wasn't working, etc. I did some testing and found the battery cables were oxidized and not making good contact and were dropping a couple of volts. I cleaned up the connections and it's been great for at least a month now. Many folks just replace the battery, which typically means cleaning the terminals anyway.
As a side note, do not disconnect the battery when it's running. The battery is needed to smooth out the voltage from the alternator and without it, you can damage the electronics. That used to be the redneck test for checking that alternator was working, but that was pre-electronics.

My check engine light hasn’t come back on yet either which is the longest since the issue started last week.
I do still have the (time relative) SVC 4WD light on. That light also came with issues of shutting off but then turning back on when testing the 4WD LOW. It would actually put me into a permanent shift loop where I would end up having to disconnect the battery for a refresh.
when I was investigating last night I discovered that after shutdown I hear a lot of clicks and high pitch buzzing coming from under the hood but couldn’t really find the source. That’s actually what let me to test my relays, where I discovered the clicking chilled out after pulling a ASD relay.
I think it’s important to note again that I haven’t yet had the 2 most recent recall updates. I’m hoping that they can make that 4WD issue go away.
im also thinking that I should redo my battery connections cause they seem ghetto rigged like crazy with all kinds of “work arounds”
my battery is also on the weaker end for cranking at 615 and getting kind of old. But it did test good.
I’ll repost with updates after my recall appointment on the 29th.
🤞
