pulled the key out of my 2015 jeep today and got out of the jeep and not able to lock it. screen says key still in ignition? key fob will not lock jeep as this is still on screen, started jeep and it ran fine. wife says, there was a battery low message; -30C here today.


anyway to reset this?

 

Take it to the dealer for a warranty repair. That is how you reset it.

 

was kinda hoping not to have to do that. if they are just going to disconnect the battery I can do that. but if it is something else I will have to bring it in. just a pia to drop it off and get to work.

 

You want to start a paper trail in case there is a problem later down the road. Use the warranty as much as you can, you will be treated better by the dealership and the tech that is working on your Jeep. I wrenched at a dealership for a while. The people that never brought their vehicles in for repairs were thought of as people that didn't care about their expensive car or truck. If the owner of the car doesn't care neither will the monkey working on it. Kinda the same reason you don't park next to a beater in the Walmart parking lot. They don't give a **** about their car, they sure as hell won't give a **** about door dinging or ramming a shopping cart into yours.
