You guys are gonna have to accept that it is a Cherokee, even if it appears to be in name only at this point. This is Cherokee Forum, not XJ forum.

We will likely have a sub-forum for owners of those vehicles to discuss their KLs.

Let's let them enjoy their KLs.

Hell, when the Cherokee and Wrangler came out people were pooh-poohing them as the end of Jeep as we know it. I was at the dealership during both those transitions.

Ppl need to stop their non sense. Get over it, its a new vehicle. I bet the CJ ppl hated the YJs way back when. Stop trying g to get your post counts up complaining about anew vehicle. In 10-15 years, i bet yall be buying the kl and cutting fenders and **** and making SA conversions. Just like ppl do with our XJs. Vehicles will never stop progressing. They will keep competing with each other. That's marketing.

Say you push em as hard as one another there's no way giving the numbers the kl could lose if driven by same driver taking the same lines
Numbers don't mean a thing until proven. Remember those stories of engineers thinking what looked good on paper wasn't so good out in the real world?
Now I can agree they both could be equal, but to say one or the other is better is pointless till ,again as I've said, they do a test of both trailhawk and upcountry.

Case in point, we even have a sub-forum for WJs (Whale Jeeps). I even like one of them. The owner de-fuglied the front end some how, its kinda slick. I don't know if that's possible with the KL but I've never seen a Santa Fe offroad before.

I'm excited to see what the KL will do (still hate it's fugly) but I'm get nervous about how the quality control is breaking down. Transmissions being replaced at 600 miles? Engines leaking oil at 1,000 miles? Owners complaining their TH only gets 14.5 mpg???

We have to remember the technology in the KL is going to be the future of the ENTIRE Jeep fleet by 2016.

Hopefully, Chryiat can fix the issues so that when the JKs next gen (JL?) comes out this system works well.

How's vehicle progression for ya?

I wonder how much vehicle breakdown is user error. I see so many brand new Mercedes and BMWs on the sides of the road. Can't believe its ALL quality control

I owned a towing business and towed for BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Range Rover, Jaguar and all the major US brands. It isn't driver error.

lol a very good example NOT to buy the first year or two of any vehicle, but I don't believe the XJ's early models experienced any issues this bad. Pukegoats you'll at least get a few years out of.

Ha, good then my hating of Mercedes and bmw is justified. I know volvo has had computer issues. Audi too but not as much

In regards to the fuel consumption complaints, I think we'll see improved fuel efficiency after these vehicles hit 5-7k miles and the engines are fully broken in.

I remember from my time working for Acura that many owners had poor gas mileage initially but had noted improvement by the first oil change. I can't say for sure that jeep engines will respond the same way but it's not unprecedented.
