About a week ago my Cherokee had a failed start but started on the second attempt with a check engine light coming on. I drove it to the store and back then tried to start it later and it would not start. I disconnected the battery for a period of time then started it back and it started fine for a time then would not start again. I replaced the battery and the check engine light went away and has been starting fine. I ordered a code reader (before I replaced the battery) and when I received it today I went out to check to see if there were any stored codes. When I started it up the check engine light was back. The only code that comes up is in the "AT" section and is U0001 High Speed CAN Communication BUS. The vehicle will start and run fine but the code comes back if erased. Has anyone come up with a similar issue? Does anyone have an idea of where to start diagnosing this problem or what it would cost to have a dealer do it?
