Quote: Sweet man I am in San Angelo about 2 hrs south of you. I just got out here, but there are definitely some good places to wheel plenty close out here- katemcy rocks, hidden falls ranch, consafo ranch, canyons offroad park and a few other offroad parks not too far. Anyways though welcome to the forum! Hit me up to wheel once you build that jeep.
AWESOME MAN...youre seriously the first person that I have ever lived near that knew anything about wheeling trails around these parts...pretty few and far between here in abilene...but for sure dude, we need to meet up sometime fo sho!!!

Quote: Well abilene is my home town and that's where all mi familia lives so of course I'm gonna miss it and I know abilene sucks. Germany's not much better since there is nowhere to actually go mudding or trailing. I think the closest trail is around 4 1\2 hrs away. The best thing about germany is no speed limits and great food!
lol, for sure!! I bet the food is amazing. what are you doing in germany?? air force I presume??

Hey guys, honestly in need of some opinions here...the jeep I'm looking at is a Laredo (I think they call it a WJ???), I also have an opportunity to buy an 87 xj sport....are there any pros/cons to either??? Second guessing the Laredo now...

Well on this forum most people have an xj so we are a little biased haha. A couple benefits of an xj is it has an I6 which is known to be pretty dang reliable along with a better tranny than the wj. Other than that for me it really just comes down to xj's looking sweet when built up right.

Yea the hubby is AF and we have 1.5 yrs left. We are hoping to go back to Texas if not then Vegas. We both prefer the XJ since parts are plentiful but ultimately it's what u want.

My XJ has 250K and I wheel it hard and it just keeps going. And hidden falls is bad ***. I go there with my group of jeep buddies at least once a month. Lots of fun. Great trails, everything from dirt roads to level 5-6 trails. It's great. You will learn how good you are real quick.

Exactly why!!! I know all y'all are big crawler fans with ur keeps, and I'm into it too, but I'm REALLY a muddin guy, so no rain = sucks for me...time to go play in the sand for a little while...

Nice.....I paid $1300 for mine but it wasn't in the best shape. Lots of rust and faded paint, dents, leaks. I'm not complaining though I love her so hopefully u can talk em' down. Have you looked at it yet? Does it look like its worth $1900?
