Signing in from the great state of Texas
Hey yall, Chris here from abilene texas. Havent bought it yet, but fixin to. Found me a 99 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with the V8 for $2300!!!! Truck is in really pretty good condition too. Has black leather interior, in great shape, very clean. Has a sun roof. Bad : 1) hvac system is completely inop. Nothing works, seems like no power to the controls. Hoping to find me a blown fuse there. 2) has a growling noise in the rear end...thinking we might have a blown rear end...hoping to get some help here with replacing that...but will see.
This will be my very first ever Jeep. I recently traded my 87 Toyota 4runner (1st gen) that i had lifted, on mud tires, rebuilt engine on...pretty much did everything with....for a 92 gmc z71...which i have now and am trying to sell. Freakin hate big trucks...for mudding anyways...completely impractical and cant get anywhere on the trail. Looking forward to getting into a nice small suv to get trail rated.
Have looked through a ton of forums and found this one to be the best i could find so looking forward to learning some with yall and hopefully being able to someday be the helper for someone else.
Will have pics posted soon guys, really soon.

snorkel dont look too bad either eh?? cost me all of about $35 to rig that thing up. and it plumbed right into my air box too. pretty sick. sounded really cool when accelerating...kinda like the old "flip top" trick on old school v8's.

Im a huge fan of the yotas...but, they are too expensive and require too many mods for the same model year cherokees and the jeeps have less problems (from what i have read anyways...time will tell). Really just wanting something different. Will likely wheel a yota again someday...but for now, im gonna do some toying with the jeep. Nicest thing about jeeps is the parts availability (so far ive found anyways)...you can get anything and everything for these suckers, used parts are easier to find, lift kits are cheaper, they dont have underpowered 4 bangers in them...lots of positives.

You could have it back ya know...and youre in Germany now??? and miss Abilene??? something wrong with you kimber...really is. This place blows. There is nowhere to wheel here except Kirby lake...and even that is dried as a popcorn fart now, but oh what fun when it does rain (which remember, were in west texas...rain comes as often as tourists do...), you should see the people out there in the lake bottom, mud trucks come from the woodwork to tear it up.

Sweet man I am in San Angelo about 2 hrs south of you. I just got out here, but there are definitely some good places to wheel plenty close out here- katemcy rocks, hidden falls ranch, consafo ranch, canyons offroad park and a few other offroad parks not too far. Anyways though welcome to the forum! Hit me up to wheel once you build that jeep.

Well abilene is my home town and that's where all mi familia lives so of course I'm gonna miss it and I know abilene sucks. Germany's not much better since there is nowhere to actually go mudding or trailing. I think the closest trail is around 4 1\2 hrs away. The best thing about germany is no speed limits and great food!
