Default New to thread bent steel need straightened

hello all i recently have purchased a 99 cherokee sport and have a few things i need to fix. But before all of that, i recently went to the junk yard and found a steel front bumper gaurd. So i took it home and plan on restoring it you know paint it and such, my question however is the steel is bent and i need to straighten it out. Anyone have any ideas on the best and fastest way to do this? should i take it to a shop will they do that at a shop or should i make a fire of my own. il post pictures of it later when i get a chance. thanks

Heat it up with a torch. Pretty easy when it's hot! Welcome to Cherokee Forum!

If you have access to an oxy-acetylene setup then that's the ticket. A good anvil also but those 2 tools are stretching it for most people. You could try map gas and a torch tip

pics would help but if it's similiar to mine, I got mine at a JY and it was bent and I was able to fix it by bolting it up to the jeep and then tying a tow strap around the bent part of the bumper and then around the tree. Then just hop in the jeep, throw it in reverse, and back up till she's straight again. Lol. And if that doesn't work, chalk ur tires and instead of tying the tow strap to the tree, tie it to a friends bumper and have them pull it straight while your jeep remains still. New to thread bent steel need straightened-image-1949213653.jpg I had to do a little bit of welding as well but the round tubing on the upper side was bent and the square main part was bent and cracked.
