Welcome to CF. Describe the leak. Cherokees often have one of three places that are oil leak prone. They are 1) Rear main seal, 2) Valve cover, and 3) Oil filter housing has an O ring that goes bad.
The first two look the same and appear to be dripping off the rear of the pan. After the engine is cleaned the source is easier to find. HTH

well the guy i purchased it from said it was an 800$ fix at the shop and the engine had to be pulled to do it, from what i can tell its on the back end of the engine, ive been poking my head around to try to figure it out but it loses about a quart a week so there is oil everywhere

Welcome from W.V. Probably a rear main seal, Is it coming from between the motor and tranny? Might be easier to pull the tranny...

Hello mikeg216 ,

Welcome to the forum, I got the same problem, mine is leaking from the rear main seal, high mileage.
With that low mileage and for that age most likely the seal got rotten for lack of lubrication.
I agree with Jonb8 it is easier to pull the tranny..........it a good time to replace all lubricants with you are at it!
