Default New here but not to 4x4

hey guys so i bought myself a toyota tacoma last years (my first car). but the time has come to sell it( absoultly nothing wrong with the probelm is im getting 13-15 mpg( its cuz its only 3.4l v6 with a 9" lift) and i travel 50 miles a day. so i thought hell why not get a Cherokee.

they are great off road and easy to get offraod parts for them.

if i do get a cherokee this is what i plan on doing:

4-6" lift

33's

pre runner bumper's

black rims

roof rack with offraod lights

and more

however i can't go all out cuz this is my junior year and college is soon to come so thats why im selling my truck. My truck would just be way too hard to drive in a cramped college.

is a cherokee for me??????

oh and here is my baby.....

this pic isn't photo shopped....^^^^

I think if youd take the time to build and utilize a Cherokee you'd soon fall in love. Parts and modifications are easy to come by as you said. My opinion: Just be sure to stick with 2003 and younger. 2004 they changed a lot including motor quality. Stick with the I-6.

ya in my oppion the Grands are pretty dumb looking. and i really like the fact that it is easy to get parts.

but anyways how do the I-6's do with semi high miles( 80k-130k)?

Very well. My latest purchase was an older I6 (1991) because it has all cast iron on the motor. If You due common preventative maintenance on them You should get 200k-250k on a motor if treated well.

Welcome to the forum! Thats a nice looking Yota dude!! Well your gas mileage didnt really improve by getting a Cherokee but these rigs are bulletproof. I dont know how they match up against a Tacoma that tall with TRD package but there are XJs on here that im sure can hang.

so how do cherokees do with tires in the 32" range with a manual tranny? are they hard to start off?

i was just wondering because in my tacoma i have 4.10(stock) with 33's and its little hard to start off.

and i herd that manual cherokees have something like 3.35's. wouldn't it be pretty difficult to start off in those bigger tires? or am i totally wrong?
